I grew up in Rhode Island and my early education took place in suburban middle-class schools. I went on to attend the University of Rhode Island with plans on becoming a teacher. However, after learning a bit about organizational psychology, I ended up taking some business courses and going down a different educational path. I graduated from URI with B.A. in Psychology and continued my education at Northeastern University where I received a M.S. in Human Resources Counseling.
I went on to have a career which included positions as a software support analyst, human resources assistant, and human resources information systems support analyst. All of this experience led to working as a software consultant for businesses, colleges and universities for 11 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my career but stopped 5 years ago when I started a family. I am excited to start the process of achieving my initial goal of becoming a teacher and look forward to working in a school.
